Piercarlo Culasso farm
The route starts from Alba heading toward the Piercarlo Culasso farm, a family-run business founded in 2017, producing wine from Nebbiolo grapes grown in their own vineyards in the Faset subzone. The family's passion for wine dates back to the early 1900s with Modesto and Dante. Today, Piercarlo and his children personally oversee every step of the production process, combining tradition and quality. Their wines are the result of old vineyards, of traditions respected over time and handed down from father to son, with the goal of fully expressing the Barbaresco territory.
Barbaresco
After that, the route climbs to Barbaresco, a charming village in the Langhe, dominated by the historic medieval tower, 36 meters high, from whose top you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Tanaro valley. The village is worth a stop for a stroll through its streets and a visit to the deconsecrated church of San Donato, now home to the Regional Wine Shop, which showcases over 120 labels, representing 90% of the local production. Access to the tower is via a panoramic elevator that leads to the first level with the ticket office, continuing to the Sensory Analysis Room and finally to the panoramic terrace, where you can admire the heart of the Barbaresco territory.
Treiso
Treiso is a picturesque village in the Langhe, nestled among gentle hills and vineyards that define its landscape. In addition to being a renowned Barbaresco production area, the village is known for its connection to literature: Beppe Fenoglio, the famous writer from Alba, set some of his short stories about the Resistance here. Walking through its streets, you can feel an authentic atmosphere, blending rural tradition with breathtaking views.
